Double Boost & Barthez In Goal

By | Aug 4, 2011

Good news for Red Devils as both Valencia and Fletcher are ready for new season and resuming full training respectively.

Valencia returned early from Ecuador’s Copa America conquest after picking up an ankle injury. He has just signed a double your wage deal to stay at Old Trafford

Meanwhile, Darren Fletcher who have been battling a major stomach virus during the last 3 months of the season will resume full training this week.

A shocking result after United suffered a reverse 8-2 thumping from French giants Marseille in Monaco on Tuesday. Don’t get worried, it’s just a charity match, with line-up was made up from youngsters, reserves and Fabian Barthez in goal.

Barthez had an unhappy return in a United shirt as Marseille went goal crazy in the charity match.

Sneijder Saga Goes On

By | Aug 3, 2011

Inter Milan gave a strong word indicated star man Wesley Sneijder will not be sold to Manchester United – the Premier League champions for season 2010/2011.

Holland international Sneijder is currently in Beijing with his club ahead of this weekend’s Italian Super Cup against city rivasl AC Milan.

It has been reported Sneijder will play his last match for Inter against AC Milan. Speculation suggest the terms of United’s offer would involve a salary pay-cut for the 27-year-old with a transfer fee or around £30million to Inter Milan.

Double your deal for Valencia

By | Jul 30, 2011

Antonio Valencia has landed a bumper new double-your-money deal at Manchester United. The winger is expected to sign a four year contract worth £80k a week.

Valencia, an Ecuador international midfielder, age 25, is a key part of Sir Alex squad and has battled back to fitness from a broken ankle he suffered in a Champions League clash against Rangers last September.

United’s CEO David Gill said the process of finalizing the deal is on going and it will be a long-term deal.

Sir Alex Ferguson signed Valencia from Wigan in June 2009 costing United  £16million. He has made 69 appearances for the Red Devils and scored 10 goals.

Fergie Firm about Wesley

By | Jul 21, 2011

Sir Alex Ferguson gave a strongly hint that Wesley Sneijder won’t be coming to United after much speculations about the possible arrival this summer from Inter Milan.

With Modric & Nasri seemingly bound for Chelsea and Arsenal, should they eventually leave both club respectively, Sneijder appeared the most obvious replacement for Scholes.

Even though Ferguson have strongly denied about the possible deal for the Holland international, speculation were aplenty about a deal, including a possible claim that shirt manufacturer Nike may get involved to push it through.

If Ferguson has turned elsewhere, the options are not extensive. Continue Reading >>

Fergie Cool Sneijder Bid!!

Wesley Sneijder

Sir Alex Ferguson deny he is in the interest to sign Inter Milan’s Wesley Sneijder. But, reports continue to suggest Manchester United are closing in on a deal for Holland international Sneijder.

United have long been linked with Sneijder, 27, as they seek a replacement for Paul Scholes, and first team coach Rene Meulensteen suggested a move was on the cards when he described the midfielder as an “ideal” signing.

Meanwhile, Inter director Marco Branca said this week that Sneijder is not for sale unless a”mega-galactic: offer arrives, while the player had earlier said he was happy at the club.

ESPNsoccernet sources believe the player’s wage demands is the red light for the deal. Sneijder is believed to have demanded wages of £250,000 a week to switch to Old Trafford which was refused point blank by United. However, indications are that the Dutch star would be willing to come down to £190,000 a week. A more acceptable proposition for the Red Devils.

Netherland coach Bert van Marwijk believes Sneijder would benefit from a move to Old Trafford.

“A transfer to Manchester United would only make Wesley a better player,” he said in The Sun. “He has already played for top teams like Real Madrid and Inter Milan but United would be another step forward for him – not only because of their football and their way of thinking, but also because it would be a new challenge for him. That is often very inspiring for players and gives them new energy.

“It would also be advantageous for the Dutch national team. Manchester United’s game is closer in style to ours than that of Inter. With us, Wesley has a long time on the ball. He is involved at all times and is dangerous with his passing and shots on goal. In Italy, he plays deeper and must compete against five or six defenders.

“The way we play allows Wesley to make his mark on the game and it would be the same if he played for United. I think he would fit in well there.”

The Sun Man Utd & Wes Deal

Wesley Sneijder

According to UK paper theSun, it was reported Wesley Sneijder is ready to sign for Manchester United this week in a club record £35 million deal. The last time United break a record deal was also from Italy, Juan Sebastian Veron from Lazio.

I’m quite optimistic that Wesley Sneijder will not be another flop from Italy that United signed given he’s more stronger physically and doesn’t scare to embroiled in body tussle that is quite common in Barclay Premier League.

The Inter Milan midfielder is expected to agree a bumper deal that would surpass Wayne Rooney’s £220,000 a week. Inter are resigned to cashing in on the 27-year-old Dutchman. A team-mate said: “Everyone expects Wesley’s move to United to be announced soon, maybe as early as Wednesday.”

The source added: “He has even spoken to Dutch international team-mate Nigel de Jong to find out where are the best places to live in Manchester.

“It all looks imminent, no matter what Inter or Wesley may say in public.
“It seems Inter want to sell but don’t want to admit it, while Wesley wants to go but doesn’t want to say it. It’s a good move for him and good business for Inter.”

We shall see how it turn out to be when the week end!
