Memories of Antonio Puerta

THE world of football was left in mourning and bewilderment following the death of emerging Spanish international Antonio Puerta in Madrid last Thursday. Alan Smith Thanks Fans Alan Smith, the former devils striker has paid tribute to Manchester United fans for accepting him into the the Old Trafford faithful family despite he was Leeds United die hard supporter. He told The Sun the only disappointment for him was that he didn’t have a chance to say goodbye to the fans who were great to him all the time.

“When you consider I came from Leeds and the club’s supporters are not exactly the best of friends, it was a big thing for them to accept me the way they did” Smith also revealed he has received a letter from Sir Alex thanking him for his contribution to the club since leaving the Red Devils.

“I must have done something right when I was there for the manager. I was really pleased to get the letter and told me what a difficult decision it was to sell me,” said Smith. Alan Smith has set his sight to help bring some silverware to Newcastle after so many years without a trophy. We wish Alan Smith all the best and good luck into his new adventure.
