Chelsea dropped more vital points after they could only manage 0-0 draw with Fulham in Grant second games in charge. Drogba got himself sent-off in the 74th minute with a second bookable offence.

Elsewhere, Arsenal recorded a eight straight win against West Ham who did a double over Arsenal last season. Robin Van Persie scored the only goal of the game in the 13th minute. Arsenal young gun is seriously a title contender this season, no doubt about it.

Liverpool start with Torress as first eleven although he didn’t score himself, but they come home with a three points in bag against Wigan. Yossin Benoyoun scored in the 75 minutes to ended Liverpool’s mini crisis. (more…)

One nil again - Birmingham vs Man Utd

Cristiano RonaldoRonaldo first goal of the Barclays Premier League campaign secured a fifth successive league win at St Andrews as Birmingham was beaten 1-0. This is United fourth 1-0 win of the campaign and sit second in the table despite scoring only seven times in eight games.

It is also Van der Sar fifth successive clean sheets in the competition since losing to Manchester City, however, he was substituted in the second half due to toe injury and will miss midweek Champions League games against AS Roma.

Ronaldo making his 100th league start, settled the issue six minutes into the second half. There seemed little danger when Ferdinand played the ball forward just inside the Blues area, but Queudrue hesistated when he should have cleared and Ronaldo took full advantage.
