Luis Nani has surprised Sir Alex Ferguson with the way he settled in England since moving from Sporting Lisbon, what more amazing was he has played in 11 games of Manchester United’s opening 13 fixture, making seven starts.
The Red Devils boss also predicts a bright future ahead for the Portuguese winger. “There’s tremendous potential in the boy”, he said. “We really quite bullish about him.”
Nani was brought in to be used in a way that would allowed Ryan Giggs a regular rests. Luck was surely on Nani side, United early season injury and a relatively seamless setting-in period have led to a more permanent involvement notably the wonder goal he scored against Tottenham that seal a 1-0 victory for United.
Ferguson have also praised Nani as a marvellous crosser of the ball as well as have a pair of quick feet. “He’ll settle in more as he learns the language. He’s keen, and he’s doing all right with his English. There’s great potential there, and he’s only 20 so he’s only going to get better.”
