Holland international Sneijder is currently in Beijing with his club ahead of this weekend’s Italian Super Cup against city rivasl AC Milan.

It has been reported Sneijder will play his last match for Inter against AC Milan. Speculation suggest the terms of United’s offer would involve a salary pay-cut for the 27-year-old with a transfer fee or around £30million to Inter Milan.

Sir Alex Ferguson deny he is in the interest to sign Inter Milan’s Wesley Sneijder. But, reports continue to suggest Manchester United are closing in on a deal for Holland international Sneijder.

United have long been linked with Sneijder, 27, as they seek a replacement for Paul Scholes, and first team coach Rene Meulensteen suggested a move was on the cards when he described the midfielder as an “ideal” signing.

Meanwhile, Inter director Marco Branca said this week that Sneijder is not for sale unless a”mega-galactic: offer arrives, while the player had earlier said he was happy at the club.

Netherland coach Bert van Marwijk believes Sneijder would benefit from a move to Old Trafford.

“A transfer to Manchester United would only make Wesley a better player,” he said in The Sun. “He has already played for top teams like Real Madrid and Inter Milan but United would be another step forward for him – not only because of their football and their way of thinking, but also because it would be a new challenge for him. That is often very inspiring for players and gives them new energy.

“It would also be advantageous for the Dutch national team. Manchester United’s game is closer in style to ours than that of Inter. With us, Wesley has a long time on the ball. He is involved at all times and is dangerous with his passing and shots on goal. In Italy, he plays deeper and must compete against five or six defenders.

“The way we play allows Wesley to make his mark on the game and it would be the same if he played for United. I think he would fit in well there.”

United CEO David Gill stayed behind in Manchester to complete negotiations on the club record transfer when Fergie and his squad flew out to United States on Monday.

The deal will bring Red Devils summer spending to astonishing £85million on four players after also buying Phil Jones, Ashley Young and David De Gea.

Reports cited United set to launch a January bid to sign Aalesunds goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard after Eric Steele, Red Devils goalkeeping coach, flew to Norway to scout the player for a fifth time.

United have been following Lindegaard for several months as they hunt for a successor to Edwin van der Sar. The Dutchman, who joined United from Fulham in 2005, turns 40 in October and is expected to announce his retirement at the end of the season.

Last weekend, United manager Sir Alex Ferguson flew to Valencia to cast his eye over another candidate, David de Gea, the Spain Under-21 goalkeeper, but switched his attention back to Lindegaard and dispatched Steele to watch the Denmark international during Aalesunds’ 2-1 defeat at Stabaeck on Sunday.

Lindegaard, 26, originally moved to Aalesunds on loan after struggling to make his mark at Danish club Odense, but impressed so much that they signed him on a three-year deal. He made his international debut in a Euro 2012 qualifier against Iceland last month and has been attracting a lot of attention since claiming a regular first-team place at the Colour Line Stadion.

“I know that some British clubs are keeping tabs, but I don’t know how strong their interest is,” Aalesunds’ sports director Henrik Hoff told Norway’s VG newspaper last week.

“I have said all the time that something will happen in the winter window, but I could be mistaken. As big as the interest is, it would be strange if we don’t receive a serious offer.”

United sold England goalkeeper Ben Foster to Birmingham City in the summer and only have Tomasz Kuszczak as an experienced alternative to Van der Sar.

Everton’s teenager Jack Rodwell is believe to be on Sir Alex tracking list. Boss Fergie is set to offer £10million plus out-of-favour Michael Carrick before the window closes later. While Everton are desparate to hold on to the under-21 ace but may find the deal too tempting.

Rodwell, 19, is a central midfielder who can also play at centre half and has been compared to a young Rio Ferdinand. United have been unsure whether to go for the player now or wait till the end of this campaign, by then his value will have rocketed when Rodwell add another season of experience under his belt.

Rodwell has been at Goodison since he was seven and became the club’s youngest player in Europe when he was 16. He made his Premier League debut in March 2008 and scored last season in their 3-1 home win over United.

However, Campbell has revealed that there has not yet been any approach from the Red Devils but he would be happy to train with the Premer League champions after spending several weeks with former club Arsenal.

Campbell told ESPN Soccernet: “I have heard nothing officially from Manchester United, but there have been suggestions and of course, it would be a great move for me, if it happens. I shall just have to wait and see if a call comes through the right channels.

“Of course I would love to play for Manchester United, but I am not counting any chickens, just waiting to see what happens. I am training as usual at Arsenal, and would go to train at Manchester United if I was asked.”

Magath is keen to avoid any talk of a possible transfer for now, but admits he is aware of mounting interest in the young goalkeeper.

“I have heard Manchester United would be interested in signing Manuel Neuer,” he told Die Welt.

“But for as long as I don’t receive a concrete approach, I will not make any statement about this.”
