Louis Saha is expected to be involve in today match against Roy Keane’s Sunderland at 17.15 UK times. Saha was pencilled to play some part in last weekend Tottenham match only to left out in final 16 man squad by Ferguson. After another week of intensive training, Saha should featured against Sunderland this weekend.
“Louis is such an important player for us,” Sir Alex told his pre-match press conference. “I don’t think he’ll start, but he can be a very important player if he comes on. He gives us another option, there needs to be more of a cutting edge about our game.”
Fellow injury victim Anderson, signed from Porto during the summer transfer could also make his home debut this saturday, having trained this week after suffering hamstring strain earlier last month. Ferguson is pleased with Anderson’s training of the last couple of weeks.
Sir Alex has also confirmed Gary Neville will not be fit for this weekend game, another week or two looks more possible for Neville to back in the squad.
Meanwhile, a little good news here Rooney is expected to make an early comeback than the expected eight weeks after suffering the injury on the opening day of the season against Reading. He will go for a scan end of next week to determine whether he could make an early comeback.
“He’s been working really hard in the gym and he won’t have a lot to pick up when he comes back, in terms of his fitness because he had a really good pre-season”, said Ferguson.
