Everton vs Manchester United - Ronaldo Return

Cristiano Ronaldo is back for this Saturday lunch time kick-off at Goodison Park with Manchester United looking to register the first away win against Everton. Ronaldo return after three match suspension following his sent-off against Reading for head-butting, meanwhile Wayne Rooney has also returned to training and could be on the bench against Everton.

The chances of Rooney playing is extremely low but next week cruncher against Chelsea looks more prospect while The Red Devils is looking to continue the two-year unbeaten track record at the Goodison Park. Ronaldo return is likely to add more spice to United attack given United only scored a total three times despite having what on paper would be the dream attack force for others team.

For the first time in the season, Ferguson is able to play a team with more direct approach and width penetration. Louis Saha and Carlos Tevez are certain to lead the United attack with Ronaldo attacking down the right touch-line. Nani may start instead of Giggs in the left flank with Ferguson having an eye on the Wednesday Champions League group stages encounter with Sporting Lisbon at Portugal.

The back four looks certain to be the same as last game against Sunderland with some minor adjustment to the midfield with the inclusion of Cristiano Ronaldo and Michael Carrick in the absent of Oliveira Anderson who yet to adjust to the EPL games and Owen Hargreaves who face a late fitness test.

The last corresponding fixture at Goodison Park saw United down from 2-0 to won 4-2 after the introduction of Ronaldo from the bench. Ronaldo may now become a target of provocation from opponents with the winger unable to control his shortened temper during Portsmouth games, warned Ferguson.

Everton’s new pair of strike force in Andrew Johnson and Ayegbeni Yakubu may post some threat to United back four. Johnson has speed and Yakubu is a threat in aerial battle but Scotland’s hero James McFadden who scored the winner against France for the Euro 2008 qualifying cannot be sure of a starting berth according to David Moyes.

High flying Everton may not have Tim Howard in goal, the former Devils keeper who yet to face United following his transfer to Everton injured his finger on International duty. His place will likely go to understudy John Ruddy.

However, the Toffees have demonstrated in the previous five matches they are proven fighters and Manchester United will be careful not to slip further in the title race.

United probable line up: Van der Sar (G), Wes Brown (D), Nemanja Vidic (D), Rio Ferdinand (D), Patrice Evra (D), Michael Carrick (M) Cristiano Ronaldo (M), Paul Scholes (M), Luis Nani (M), Luis Saha (S) , Carlos Tevez (S).

Venue: Goodison Park, 12.00 UK
Predict Score: Everton 0 - 2 Manchester United
