Manchester United have been linked with Klaas-Jan Huntelaar who will return to Real Madrid on Thursday for showdown talks with his current employers.
The Dutch striker only moved to the Santiago Bernabeu from Ajax Amsterdam in January but he has been constantly linked with a move away from Madrid.
AC Milan and United have both been linked with the Holland international but the Rossoneri have ended their interest in the 25-year-old, who scored 76 goals in 96 appearances for Ajax, leaving the way clear for the Red Devils.
With Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka and Olympique Lyonnais forward Karim Benzema arriving at Real this summer Huntelaar has been pushed further down the pecking order and wants to speak to Los Blancos officials before deciding where his future lies.
“Klaas-Jan will return to Madrid on Thursday and then he wants to know what his situation at Real looks like,” the striker’s agent, Arnold Oosterveer, told Voetbal International.
“There are a lot of rumours around, and there is much interest in him, but the player has yet to make a decision.”
Real want to recoup the entire €20m they paid to Ajax in the winter transfer window. I would say we pay £15m instead of €20m(£17.3m) for his service would be a bargain given Huntelaar will be shown the door before Real’s new season
