Louis Saha has once again aborted his comeback from injury. The injury prone striker was expected to feature as substitute against Tottenham, however, he was ruled out just before kick-off. The withdrawal was described as “farcical” on the club’s television by Lou Macari.
Manager Sir Alex is known to have grown exasperated with Saha’s frequent absences and patience is wearing thin at Old Trafford. His last league match was since March last year.
‘There is concern behind the scenes at Old Trafford over the possibility of a call-up to the France squad next week for their European Championship qualifying matches against Italy and Scotland,’ reports The Times. ‘Ferguson insisted that the 29-year-old would be fit to play against Sunderland this Saturday, but United are worried about the prospect of letting the player join up with France, given that he has previously suffered injuries while on international duty.
This is a real concern for United given that Solksjaer has just announce his retirement from the games, the sale of Alan Smith to Newcastle and the injury to Wayne Rooney. In short, Ferguson only have three striker at his disposal, with Carlos Tevez the only fully fit guy out there who is still finding his feet in the game for United.
Wayne Rooney, however, has already returned to light training after breaking a bone in his foot, and is expected to make a first team come back ahead of schedule in September.

[...] I hope France find the form to finish second. And please, oh gods of football, could Louis Saha for once return from international duty without an injury? [...]
