Mikael Silvestre and Gabriel Heinze are targets of French champions Lyon who are desperate to fill the void left by Cris who has been ruled out for six months with a knee injury.

Coach Alain Perrin has confirmed both Silvestre and Heinze are on the club’s wanted list. ‘Mikael has the advantage of being a versatile left-footer as well. We must now see the conditions in which he could come.

Meanwhile, Sir Alex Ferguson now accepts Heinze, the Red Devils player of the year in his first season at the club, has no future at Old Trafford.

Already annoyed at Heinze’s public courting of the fierce north-west rivals, anger among the United faithful has risen even more at the prospect of the former Paris St Germain defender appealing against the verdict, which prevents him becoming the first player since 1964 to join the Anfield from United.

Perrin could make a move and waiting for a response about Gabriel Heinze, according to Perrin Heinze has the profile of the player they are looking for.

French champions Lyon remain the club to show most interest in Heinze, however, with the transfer window closes in a week time, it would be no surprise if other top outfits in Spain and Italy began to show an interest.
