No Nasri Deal

By | Jul 12, 2011

Sir Alex Ferguson has claimed that want away Arsenal midfielder Samir Nasri will not be joining Manchester United. Earlier reports had suggested United have had a £20million bid for the unsettled Arsenal’s midfielder to fill Scholes shoe, rejected by Arsenal.

Fergie made his comments shortly after arriving in Boston on the first leg of the club’s five-match United States tour.

“I don’t think he is coming to United,” said Ferguson. “That is all I can tell you. I think that he has agreed to go somewhere else.”

By | Oct 5, 2010

Anders Lindegaard names has been circulating as the next man to guard Manchester United goal post.

Reports cited United set to launch a January bid to sign Aalesunds goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard after Eric Steele, Red Devils goalkeeping coach, flew to Norway to scout the player for a fifth time.

United have been following Lindegaard for several months as they hunt for a successor to Edwin van der Sar. The Dutchman, who joined United from Fulham in 2005, turns 40 in October and is expected to announce his retirement at the end of the season.

Carrick never think of leaving United!

By | Oct 5, 2010

Michael Carrick says he never had any intention of leaving Manchester United during the summer. Carrick 29, was out of favor towards the end of season and recent reports suggesting Aston Villa boss Gerard Houlier is considering a bid.

“I have seen some stories suggesting I’d be leaving last summer but I take no notice,” he said. “It’s part of the game. I have never thought I was on my way out of United, not for one minute.

“It has never entered my mind and neither has the manager said anything to me. This is a great place to be and results like the one against Valencia make it all worthwhile when you play a part in something like that.

“I have the rest of this season and next season left on my contract and I would like to stay here for the rest of my career. Why would I want to go anywhere else?

“It’s up to me this season to work hard to earn the right to do that and to make it a reality, so the aim is to be in the team as often as I can.”

The Dimi Show

By | Sep 21, 2010

It now appears – no, let’s own up and concede it is written in the sky above this stadium – that when Sir Alex Ferguson was beating down the doors of White Hart Lane to sign Dimitar Berbatov he may not have been committing one of the great follies of his football life. You would probably have required a rack and some thumbscrews and plenty of time to force that kind of admission from the manager even if the Bulgarian had continued to fl oat around the margins of a United team in danger of losing its way under the weight of a new challenge from Carlos Ancelotti’s Chelsea.

Such resilience was hardly necessary yesterday, however, as Liverpool – a desperate team trying to revive themselves with a brand of clockwork football that at times made them look like refugees from an alien planet – were submerged by a Berbatov hattrick that could only have come from a natural-born goal-scorer of the highest quality. Berbatov’s astonishing re-incarnation as a striker of bite and sometimes breathtaking skill – his second goal, an overhead kick that might have earned a glance of admiration from Rudolph Nureyev, left Liverpool rolling against the ropes – has come with brilliant timing for Ferguson, who otherwise might be reeling under the impact of that restated force by champions Chelsea. Man Utd 3-2 Liverpool: Berbatov Treble

By | Sep 19, 2010

Dimitar Berbatov who used to be called Berbaflop stole the show as his hat-trick downed arch-rivals Liverpool at Old Trafford. His nickname Berbaflop could be on its way into history now that Berbatov has started to prove his point on the pitch!

The Manchester United striker has endured a tough time since his move from Tottenham in 2008, but looked every bit the £30million man in this derby victory.

Berbatov opened the scoring minutes before half-time with a header, before his second on the hour mark sent the United faithful berserk. Reina was watching Berbatov back, thinking he would have pass the ball to his mate, instead, the Bulgarian launched an unstoppable overhead kick that crashed in off the crossbar after controlling Nani cross with his knee. Reina was static at that time. Continue Reading >>

Man Utd vs Liverpool: 19 Sept Preview

By | Sep 19, 2010

English most prominent clubs head into one of the most anticipated games of the season. Both clubs now shared the title king of England with 18 English top flight title each.

The rivalry between Manchester United and Liverpool has dwindled in terms of importance in the title race since they clashed at Old Trafford in March 2009, but the fixture still evokes as much passion and desire in the fans as it ever has.

Both sides have started the season indifferently, with Liverpool’s well-documented problems restricting them to a single win in their opening four games amid confusion over potential takeovers and the future of their players, while United’s penchant for conceding late goals has seen them draw two of their four as Wayne Rooney’s private life is hauled through the tabloids.

In recent years, it has been Liverpool who have emerged victorious from the fixture, as they have picked up three of the last four wins. Gone are the days when Danny Murphy haunted the Red Devils, but Fernando Torres’ three goals in his last three against United make him public enemy No. 1 in Manchester. The Spanish striker has been out of form and fitness of late, but will be spurred on by Jamie Redknapp’s ”diabolical” attack on him after the 0-0 draw with Birmingham and will certainly be keen to prove a point.
