Haha! The title sound quite weird right? Not so for me, after all this is England’s head coach Steve McClaren’s first win at Wembley. More interesting, the team has missed some couple of “big” names. Frank fat Lampard not playing, Hargreaves out, David Beckham suffering injury in LA Galaxy matches, hence, who has been drafted in to fill the void?

Shaun Wright-Phillips, Emile Heskey, Gareth Barry and Micah Richards filling the right-back slot for the injured Gary Neville. The former three was a direct replacement for David Beckham, Wayne Rooney and Frank Lampard.

England scored in the 20th minute through Wright-Phillips, his first competitive England goal. Wright-Phillips’ wonderfully crafted effort. Joe Cole was the architect, winning possession close to the Israel box. He then stepped onto his favoured right foot before picking out Wright-Phillips with a superb angled ball which dropped beyond the visitors defence.

Second goal by Michael Owen, with him receiving the ball from Gareth Barry whom taking oven Hagreaves’s midfield spot played an effective performance by rolling the ball to Owen’s feet. Stood on the edge of the box with his back to goal, with an inspired first touch the Newcastle striker turn and smashed his 38th England goal into the top corner.

Then came another performer of the day in Micah Richard. Richards again betraying his tender years with another mature performance which nudges him closer to ousting our Gary Neville as England first-choice right-back. The Manchester City teenage defender rose to power home Steven’s Gerrard’s corner in the 66th minutes.

The England camp is in thrilling spirit, with Russia encounter takes place at Wembley on Wednesday they must have fancy their chances. However, no side coached by Guus Hiddink can be taken lightly, we already saw some example namely in South Korea and Australia.
