By ManUtd | Oct 3, 2008

Wayne Rooney’s latest injury may keep him out of Manchester United’s Saturday trip to Blackburn Rovers but not England’s World Cup qualifying double-header with Kazahstan and Belarus.Rooney turned his ankle during United’s Champions League win over Aaalborg, in which Rooney scored the first goal and it was first feared he would join Paul Scholes on the long-term injury list.

However, a club spokesperson told the club’s official website: “Wayne has an ankle injury and is considered doubtful for Saturday’s game against Blackburn, but he should recover in time for England’s forthcoming matches.”

Fabio Capello names his England squad on Sunday for the match in Astana on Saturday 11 October and Belarus’ visit to Wembley on Wednesday 15 October.
